The United States Coast Guard has launched a search and rescue operation for a crew member who reportedly fell overboard from the MSC Seascape, a cruise ship navigating the waters northwest of Puerto Rico.
The incident occurred on Tuesday night.

Reports are that the 30-year-old individual, an Indian national whose identity remains undisclosed, tumbled into the Atlantic Ocean from a height exceeding 30 feet (nine meters).
The incident occurred during the MSC Seascape’s journey from Puerto Rico to the Dominican Republic, marking a routine leg of its voyage.
Response from the Coast Guard
Recognizing the urgency of the situation, the cruise ship’s crew promptly initiated emergency procedures.
Reports are that a lifeline was thrown, along with three life rings, in an effort to rescue the fallen crew member.
Additionally, a rescue boat was deployed into the ocean to actively search for the individual.
