A woman was hospitalized following a dog attack in Oakland Park on Sunday. The incident occurred around 2 p.m. in the 500 block of Northeast 51st Street. According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, the woman was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. However, her identity and current condition have not been disclosed.
It’s unknown what led to the attack but officials said the dog or dogs involved are owned by family members.
On Sunday evening, animal control workers and deputies were observed removing what appeared to be a pit bull from a home in Oakland Park. This incident comes on the heels of another dog attack in Deerfield Beach, where an 11-year-old boy was injured. Authorities are continuing their investigation into both incidents.
