Jamaica will host the third edition of the Island Music Conference set to take place from February 19 to 23 at the Courtleigh Auditorium in New Kingston, bringing together global music industry leaders to collaborate and advance Jamaican, Caribbean, and world music.
In a press release, the organizers highlighted that the conference will provide valuable insights into practical strategies and tools for music industry professionals, helping them successfully navigate the complex music ecosystem. This year’s event promises to be a key opportunity for networking, knowledge sharing, and fostering growth in the music industry.
Endorsed by key organizations such as the Ministry of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport, the Ministry of Tourism, the Jamaica Tourist Board, CHASE Fund, the Grammys, and YouTube, IMC 2025 promises to be a landmark event for the music industry. The conference will feature speakers from various music genres, including soca, reggae, dancehall, hip-hop, and Afrobeats, providing a diverse range of expertise. In addition to genre-specific discussions, experts will focus on successful formats and techniques that have driven success in the global music landscape, offering valuable insights to professionals seeking to thrive in the industry.
IMC serves as a vibrant meeting place for music professionals to share experiences, forge alliances, expand their knowledge base, expose new music and talent, and connect with the pulse of the global industry. Chaired by multi-Grammy-winning international artist Orville “Shaggy” Burrell, the conference’s content is specifically designed to foster Caribbean growth within the international music scene. It aims to equip participants with the tools and insights needed to navigate the industry’s complexities and overcome challenges, empowering them to succeed on the global stage.
IMC 2025 boasts more than 25 panels and a songwriting workshop.
Days 1 – 5 will include keynote address, panels, songwriter workshops, leading music executives and practitioners demystifying and giving tips and insights into key global music topics, including:

Artistes including Kemar Highcon, StoneBwoy, Kevon, Jesse Royal and Yohan Marley performed with Shaggy and WyClef at IMC 2024.
