Jamaican-American attorney Sekou Clarke named Forbes entrepreneur to watch in 2025

Jamaican-born Attorney Sekou Clarke, founder of the Sekou Clarke Law Group, has been recognized by Forbes Founder as one of the top entrepreneurs to watch in 2025.

The list includes 40 entrepreneurs operating in the United States, who are “not only transforming their businesses but also addressing global challenges and setting new standards for success. Their journeys inspire us to think bigger, act bolder, and create a future that benefits us all,” the publication said.

Clarke is celebrated for his current success as a trailblazer in immigration law and entrepreneurship.

Born in St. Andrews, Jamaica, Sekou Clarke honed his discipline and determination as an athlete at Jamaica College, one of the island’s prestigious high schools. His athletic achievements earned him a full scholarship to the University of Florida, where he completed a Bachelor of Science degree. Clarke’s transition from the track to the courtroom began when he pursued his Juris Doctor at Florida Coastal School of Law, graduating in 2016.

Clarke’s career started in personal injury law, but his passion for helping immigrants navigate complex legal systems led him to focus on immigration law. He gained valuable experience leading the Immigration Department at a prestigious inner-city law firm with offices in Florida and New York. In less than a year after earning his law license, Clarke founded the Sekou Clarke Law Group. Today, the firm operates across multiple states, Jamaica, and Colombia, addressing the needs of families, businesses, and individuals navigating U.S. immigration.

Forbes noted that Clarke built his firm without loans or partners, relying on strategic branding and marketing to drive success. Even during the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Sekou Clarke Law Group experienced a 30% revenue increase.

His forward-thinking approach includes using cutting-edge technology for efficient case management and offering virtual consultations to clients worldwide. Clarke also founded the Business Immigration Incubator, which provides mentorship and resources to immigrant entrepreneurs. This initiative reflects his deep understanding of the immigrant experience and his commitment to empowering others.

Each challenge is an opportunity to rise.” His leadership prioritizes talent, cultural fit, and embracing technology to enhance client services. Strategic expansion into immigrant-rich communities has made his firm a trusted resource for diverse populations.

The publication said his journey is a testament to his relentless dedication, innovative mindset, and commitment to excellence, and his inclusion celebrates his journey from a student-athlete in Jamaica to a leader in immigration law.
