A member of the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) died from injuries he sustained in a two-vehicle collision on New Year’s Day.
Private Javaughnie Morris, 20, from Lincoln district, Grange Hill in Westmoreland, became one of the year’s earliest reported road deaths.
Reports are that Morris and another soldier were traveling in a patrol vehicle along the Bethel Town main road in the parish at 3:15 p.m. on Sunday when their vehicle collided with a water truck.
They were taken to hospital where Morris succumbed to his injuries.
