Tommy Lee supporters celebrated on Thursday after the Jamaican dancehall artiste was released from prison.
Reports are that the entertainer was released nine months early for good behavior.
The artiste was welcomed with shouts of “One Sparta!” and hugs from family and friends outside the facility.
Tommy Lee, whose given name is Leroy Russell, was sentenced to three years in prison for illegal possession of a firearm and two years for illegal possession of ammunition in March 2021.
He pleaded guilty to both offenses.
The artiste was arrested on December 14, 2020, after a vehicle in which he was traveling was stopped by members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force’s Specialized Operations.
Reports are that a 9mm Glock pistol was found in his possession during a search.
