Jamaican artiste Spice expressed enormous gratitude after being honored with “The Key to the Region of Florida” on Friday, May 5.
The dancehall artiste, whose real name is Grace Hamilton, shared photos of herself on Instagram decked in her signature blue at the prestigious event.
“May 5th 2023, a day I will never forget, when 16 Mayors, Commissioners, and Vice mayors came together and honored me with the keys to the Region in Fort Lauderdale,” she said in an Instagram post.
“God is truly amazing, no one can tell me differently, I felt like Cinderella…,” she said, adding that the gala was beautiful while acknowledging those who celebrated with her.
Vice Mayor Bolton, Tamarac City’s first Black elected official, with the support of the Consul General of Jamaica, Oliver Mair, and other South Florida elected officials, presented Spice with an amalgamation of keys from South Florida’s most prominent leaders.
