Prime Minister Holness to attend diaspora town hall in New York

The Jamaican Consulate General in New York has announced that Prime Minister Andrew Holness will hold a Town Hall meeting with the Jamaican community in New York on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at 6 p.m. The event will take place at the Lehman Center for the Performing Arts in the Bronx.

In a social media post, Prime Minister Holness expressed his enthusiasm for the event, stating, “We start things up at 6:00 pm. I love it when you engage me about Jamaica in an authentic display of your commitment and passion for our country. I am really looking forward to seeing you so we can keep the conversation going. Don’t forget to register!”

Joining Holness at the Town Hall will be Alsion Wilson, Consul General of Jamaica to New York, and Kamina Johnson Smith, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade. Representatives from the Jamaica Promotions Corporation (JAMPRO) will also be present to discuss investment opportunities in Jamaica, provide information, and answer questions from potential investors.

The Consulate General has advised the public to arrive early to take advantage of the available services. The evening promises to be both informative and engaging, with opportunities to celebrate Jamaica’s rich cultural heritage. To ensure a smooth event, all attendees are required to register in advance.
