Jamaican-born actress and film producer Jacinth Headlam is returning to her homeland to debut her latest film, Love After Holidays. The premiere is set for Friday, February 7, at Carib 5 in Crossroads, Kingston, as a featured event of Reggae Month 2025.
“I am so, so excited. I am so grateful for this opportunity. It’s an amazing film with legendary actors, and you don’t want to miss it,” Headlam shared in a recent interview with JIS News.
The film boasts an impressive cast, including Paul Campbell, Malik Yoba, Richard Bird, Jeremy Meeks, and Jacinth Headlam herself in the lead role. Inspired by her motivational self-help memoir, Love After, the film delves into themes of forgiveness, redemption, and restoration, while addressing the emotional toll of divorce, particularly on children.
“Oftentimes when a family splits up because of a divorce, we don’t think about who it really affects. It affects the children; nobody thinks about the children and the family that is being divided. It is all about the divorcee,” Headlam explained.
“This movie really showcases the art of forgiveness, redemption, and restoration. I am excited to tell this story and to show my truth through the art of forgiveness,” she added.
When asked why she chose Jamaica for the premiere, Headlam expressed her deep connection to her roots. “This is my home. I was born and raised in Jamaica, so for me, any film that I make, I sprinkle my culture throughout all my works. I always come back home for my book and film release.”
The premiere will be a standout event during Reggae Month, an annual celebration of Jamaica’s music and cultural heritage, coordinated by the Ministry of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport alongside music industry partners, including the Jamaica Reggae Industry Association (JaRIA).
Love After Holidays promises to be an inspiring addition to the festivities, highlighting the resilience of the human spirit through a uniquely Jamaican lens.
