Vybz Kartel adds second date at Barclays Center due to high demand

Dancehall legend Vybz Kartel has added a second date to his highly anticipated U.S. return after overwhelming demand for his first performance in over two decades.

Kartel will now perform at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on Saturday, April 12, 2025, following his initial show on Friday, April 11. Tickets for both performances go on sale tomorrow, March 6, at 10 AM ET.

Kartel’s return to U.S. soil comes after the reinstatement of his visa earlier this year, marking a monumental moment for the artist and his fans. The announcement of the concerts comes shortly after a series of high-profile achievements, including his first Grammy nomination and his performance at the prestigious MOBO Awards in the UK.

“This is a monumental moment for me and the culture. To be back on U.S. soil performing for my fans is a blessing that I don’t take lightly. The wait is finally over. New York, get ready,” Kartel said.

The concert is set to be a historic event, as fans eagerly anticipate the opportunity to see the legendary artist perform live in one of dancehall’s most influential markets. CJ Milan, CEO and Founder of Reggae Fest, expressed his excitement: “This is going to be the biggest dancehall concert in U.S. history. To be at Barclays Center with the biggest dancehall artist in the world is epic! It’s about time dancehall gets the recognition it deserves. I’m very excited to have Vybz Kartel for his first U.S. show.”

Kartel’s catalog of hits, including classics like “Fever” and “Clarks,” will be showcased alongside new material, ensuring an electrifying performance for fans.

Vybz Kartel’s re-entry into the U.S. market is part of a bigger international resurgence. In February, he made his first trip to the U.S. in over two decades to attend the 2025 Grammy Awards in Los Angeles, where he was nominated for Best New Reggae Album. He also traveled to the UK, where he received the prestigious Impact Award at the MOBO Awards. His 2025 international performances include joining Drake, PARTYNEXTDOOR, Summer Walker, and Burna Boy at the 20th anniversary of London’s Wireless Festival.

Tickets for both Barclays Center dates go on sale tomorrow, March 6, at 10 AM ET. Get your tickets here.
