Carnival is the anticipated season for beautiful costumes, music, and dancing as people come together for a grand celebration in the Caribbean. In fact, this week marks the end of Trinidad and Tobago’s annual carnival. If you missed it, there are other exciting carnivals to visit in other Caribbean islands.
Soca Islands provides four upcoming celebrations to look forward to for your next island visit:
- Jamaica Carnival
If you intend to visit Jamaica, this celebration takes place just one week after Easter, which can fall anywhere between March 22 and April 25 each year. Many people travel to Jamaica to take part, so book your flight just in time for the festivities and be a part of the grand celebration.

- Barbados Crop Over
The Barbados Crop Over Festival is a celebration held annually and comprises the island’s music, arts, food, and other aspects of its culture. This tradition is from the 1780s, a time when Barbados was the largest producer of sugar. Crop Over is a celebration that marks the end of the sugar cane season with a variety of parties and other activities.
- Grenada Carnival
Grenada’s Carnival, known as Spicemas is another highly anticipated celebration.
