American flight attendant arrested for alleged cocaine smuggling at Jamaican airport

An American flight attendant was arrested for allegedly attempting to smuggle cocaine at the Sangster International Airport in St James, Jamaica.

Reports are that on Tuesday, the 47-year-old woman was in the process of boarding a flight that was destined for New York when security checks were conducted on her luggage.

During the search, one and a half kilogram of cocaine was said to be found in her possession. She was subsequently taken into custody.

She is being held for breaches of the Dangerous Drugs Act.

According to the police, the illicit drug has an estimated street value of approximately $14.5 million.
