At the forefront is the promotion of climate action, with a focus on advancing actionable mandates pertaining to disaster risk reduction, integrated water management, public sector capacity building, and climate-smart skills training. Additionally, The Bahamas aims to drive discussions on reforming the international financial architecture, addressing challenges such as access to development finance, in collaboration with member states.

Regional stability and cooperation

In line with its commitment to regional stability, The Bahamas intends to advocate for enhanced cooperation within the OAS to support Haiti in achieving security and stability.

Acknowledging the efforts of its predecessors, Argentina and Guyana, Neymour commended their contributions to advancing the organization’s agenda during their respective tenures as chair and vice-chair.

Caribbean representation at the forefront

Highlighting the region’s prominence within the OAS, the Caribbean will witness dual representation at the organization’s upper echelons.

Tarlie Francis, the Permanent Representative of Grenada, will assume the role of Vice Chair alongside The Bahamas, further solidifying the region’s influence and engagement within the OAS.
