Caribbean nationals detained in Turks and Caicos during joint traffic operation

 In a recent joint traffic enforcement operation, law enforcement authorities in the Turks and Caicos Islands apprehended 16 males from different Caribbean countries. 

These individuals were subsequently handed over to Immigration officials for processing.

Checkpoints established

An operation occurred on Wednesday as police checkpoints were established at the Susie Turn Roundabout in Providenciales.

During this period, there were a total of 41 traffic checks conducted, 36 tickets issued, 10 tint removals, four vehicles were towed, four persons were warned of intended prosecution, and 16 males were detained.  

Among those detained were 14 Haitian nationals, one Dominican national, and one St. Vincent national.

Combatting illegal activities

The Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force has emphasized that this operation is part of a broader strategic plan to combat illegal activities within the TCI. 

This initiative seeks to bolster law enforcement visibility on the island’s roadways.
