Over the past few days, there has been a sequence of earthquakes, with the latest registering at magnitude 4.4 which rattled Barbados, St. Vincent & the Grenadines, and St. Lucia.
Reports are that the quake had a depth of 10 kilometres.
The were no immediate reports of injury or damage.
Tuesday’s earthquake
On Tuesday, another earthquake measuring magnitude 3.6 struck, sending ripples through the region.
This tremor was felt in Guadeloupe, St. John’s in Antigua, and Brades in Montserrat.
Frequent tremors in the Caribbean
Over the last weekend, several earthquakes were recorded in the Caribbean. The strongest had a magnitude of 6.0 and was recorded northeast of Guadeloupe.
These back-to-back seismic events come in the wake of several other earthquakes recorded in the Caribbean last week, indicating a period of heightened seismic activity in the region.
