Bahamian police have launched an investigation into the suspected drowning of a 65-year-old female tourist from Danville, Kentucky on Saturday.
Reports are that the woman reportedly became unresponsive during her snorkeling expedition near Rose Island.
Swift Response and Emergency Medical Intervention
It is reported that the unresponsive tourist was swiftly transported to the Montague ramp.
A team of emergency medical technicians (EMTs) was already stationed and prepared to administer urgent care.
CPR efforts prove unfruitful
Reports are that en route to the hospital, the EMTs attempted CPR in a bid to resuscitate the tourist; however, their efforts were unsuccessful.
The woman was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.
