A man who is reportedly mentally ill was shot and injured by police during a confrontation in St Vincent and the Grenadines.
The Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) reports that on Thursday, police at the Questelles Police Station were informed of an allegation of a 25-year-old mentally ill man throwing stones at people and vehicles on Rillan Hill Public Road.
Reports are that the man was behaving in an aggressive manner. When the police arrived, they attempted to restrain the man and, in the process, he was shot in his leg.
He was transported to the Buccament Polyclinic for medical treatment before being transferred to the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital (MCMH).
