Public servants in St. Vincent and the Grenadines are set to receive a 2.5% salary increase, effective January 30, 2025. This marks the third consecutive year of wage hikes for government employees. The new raise follows increases of 2.5% in 2023 and 2% in 2024, bringing the total salary boost over the past three years to 7%.
The 2.5% salary increase will apply across all salary grades and will also be factored into any incremental raises for 2025. Budget Analyst Anson Latchman from the Ministry of Finance provided an example to illustrate the impact of these adjustments. He noted that a Grade F public servant who began with a salary of $48,108 in 2023, with a maximum of $62,436, will now start at $50,292 in 2025, with a maximum salary of $65,268.
In addition to the 2.5% salary increase, healthcare workers in St. Vincent and the Grenadines are benefiting from an ongoing supplementary income program. Nurses, Nursing Assistants, and Nursing Aides are receiving an extra 5% on top of their regular salaries. This supplementary payment program, initially proposed for six months, has now been extended, providing continued financial support for these essential workers.
