Diaspora Celebrates Jamaica’s Independence With Slew of Events

The Jamaican Consulate in Miami has announced several events to commemorate Jamaica’s 59th Independence on August 6, 2021. This year’s Independence anniversary is being celebrated under the theme “stronger together”.

Below is the list of events happening throughout the Jamaican diaspora in the United States.

South Florida

July 30: Opening Reception of Art Exhibition “Aaah-Inspiring Antarctica: A Jamaican Ice”

The week will culminate with Diaspora community participating in JDOP conducted by Jamaican faith-based leaders with donations to benefit Jamaican home-grown charities.
