Florida man charged after being found with multiple guns at Jamaican airport

Jamaican police have charged a Florida man with multiple weapons offenses after discovering prohibited firearms and ammunition in his luggage at Sangster International Airport (SIA) in Montego Bay, Jamaica, on Friday, November 29.

Shaun Duncan, a 42-year-old commercial driver from Cypress Pointe Boulevard in Davenport, Florida, faces charges of trafficking prohibited weapons, possession of prohibited weapons, dealing in prohibited weapons, and stockpiling prohibited weapons.

According to the Firearm and Narcotics Investigation Division, Duncan arrived in Jamaica around 4:00 p.m. on a Southwest Airlines flight. When his luggage was scanned, officers reportedly detected anomalies. The Jamaica Customs Agency enforcement team conducted a search of his bags in his presence.

Authorities said the search uncovered six firearms, 200 .357 Magnum bullets, two Glock automatic switches, and nine pistol magazines.

Duncan was immediately taken into custody and charged after a question-and-answer session in the presence of his attorney. His court date has not yet been set.
