Grenada mourns death of former Cabinet Minister Lyden John Ramdhanny

The government of Grenada has issued a statement on the passing of former Cabinet Minister Lyden John Ramdhanny, who died on February 18, 2025.

Ramdhanny, born on April 6, 1952, in St. Andrew, was a distinguished public servant and businessman. He served as the Junior Minister for Finance during the People’s Revolutionary Government (PRG), where he earned a reputation for his passion, integrity, and unwavering commitment to the development of Grenada.

Known for his leadership both in public service and private business, Ramdhanny’s contributions to the nation were vast. His vision for Grenada’s future was shaped by his belief in unity, hard work, and public service. Notably, Ramdhanny was a fierce advocate for education, spearheading scholarship initiatives and supporting vocational training and adult literacy programs that have positively impacted countless lives.

The legacy of Ramdhanny’s leadership extends beyond politics. His work helped advance policies that shaped the country’s growth, and his philanthropic efforts further demonstrated his dedication to bettering the lives of Grenadians.

He also owned and operated Ramdhanny’s True Value, a tools and hardware business in Grenada.

The Government of Grenada extended condolences to the family of Lyden John Ramdhanny during this difficult time.
