Halloween havoc: Deadly shooting disrupts Tampa celebrations

In the midst of Halloween celebrations, a violent altercation between two groups escalated into a deadly shooting in Tampa, Florida on Sunday morning. 

The incident claimed the lives of two individuals while leaving 18 hospitalized.

According to reports, the incident happened shortly before 3 a.m. on East 7th Avenue’s 1600 block, located in the bustling Ybor City district. 

Chaos captured

Footage that surfaced online shows Halloween enthusiasts suddenly sent into a panic as shots disrupt the evening’s festivities. 

The initial burst of gunfire was immediately followed by a second volley.

Videos depicted terrified individuals, some in festive attire, scrambling for cover. 

According to reports, metal tables were upturned as attendees sought shelter behind them. In subsequent footage, officers can be seen tending to multiple injured individuals sprawled on the pavement.

The Investigation continues

While the motive remains unclear, authorities have ascertained that the confrontation began as a dispute between two distinct groups. 

Reports are that one individual believed to be involved has surrendered to the police.

Reports suggest at least two individuals actively participated in the shooting. 

Police are still investigating the reason for the fight.
