Metrorail to increase weekend frequency to improve service for commuters

The Department of Transportation and Public Works (DTPW) is making improvements to Metrorail weekend service beginning Saturday, July 27, 2024.

The Metrorail service adjustments being implemented are:

  • Scheduled weekend Green Line frequency will improve from 30 minutes to 15 minutes.
  • During single tracking on weekends, Green Line trains will run every 20 minutes.  Frequencies during single tracking are approximate and subject to change.
  • For passengers heading to and from Miami International Airport on weekends, an airport train shuttle will continue to run every 15 minutes between Earlington Heights and Airport Metrorail station.

This adjustment will improve riders’ ability to navigate their weekends efficiently and will be effective in time for residents to utilize for their tax-free weekend shopping by visiting various shopping plazas serviced by Metrorail stops like Dadeland North, Coconut Grove and Brickell.
