Miami-Dade County Public Schools have achieved their highest-ever graduation rate of 91.8% for the 2023-2024 school year, marking a 1.5 percentage point increase from the previous year.
This milestone underscores a consistent upward trend in student performance and academic achievement within the district.
District-operated schools saw even greater success, with a graduation rate of 95.2%, up from 94.2% in the 2022-2023 school year. This marks the third consecutive year that Miami-Dade public schools have outperformed the state’s overall graduation rate, which stood at 89.7%.
The district’s achievement was reflected across all student subgroups, with key gains reported among Hispanic, Black, English Language Learners (ELL), Students with Disabilities, and Economically Disadvantaged students. Notable highlights include:
- Hispanic students: Graduation rates rose from 90.9% to 92.4%, surpassing the state average of 89%.
- Black students: Rates increased from 86.4% to 87.9%, exceeding the state’s 85.3%.
- Students with Disabilities: Rates climbed from 88.1% to 89.6%, surpassing the state’s 86.8%.
- Economically Disadvantaged students: Rates jumped from 89.3% to 91.2%, outperforming the state’s 86.2%.
- English Language Learners: The subgroup saw the largest improvement, with rates rising from 80.1% to 84.2%, exceeding the state average of 80.7%.
