St. Bess Victorious over Tropics United in Quarter-Final Play of South Florida Cricket Alliance Competition

St. Bess came out victorious over their opponents Tropics United in South Florida Cricket Alliance 30 over Quarter-Final play at John Mullins Park in Lauderhill last Sunday.

Tropics won the toss and gave St. Bess the first strike. They open the inning with inform batsman; Jamaica senior team representative Zeniffe Fowler and Hanesworth Wallace. The pair put on a 61 run partnership for the first wicket before Wallace departed contributing 23.

Captain Brian Gayle came to the crease to accompany Fowler and the pair added 149 runs before the fall of the second wicket with Gayle getting 63 (4 fours, 5 sixes) from forty-six ball.  Fowler was eventually out bowled in the 27 over for 127 runs (14 fours, 7sixes) from eighty-five balls. This was Fowler’s third century in a row. Sherwyn Powell made a quick fire 55 (5 fours, 4 sixes) from twenty-eight balls to complete a mammoth 315 for 6 in the allotted 30 overs for St. Bess.

Bowling for Tropics, Philerm Davis took 3 wickets for 73 from six overs. Replying, Tropics United was bowled out for 268 in 28.4 overs.

Former Jamaica representative Gavin Wallace scored 93 (8 fours, 8 sixes) from 55 balls and Bert Davis 55 (5 fours, 3 sixes) to put up a rear-guard fight.

Ambassador vs. St. Bess at John Prince Park in Lake Worth in West Palm Beach

This Game should be a high scoring match with the informed Zeniffe Fowler with three centuries in a row, backed up by skipper Brian Gayle, Sherwyn Powell, Hanesworth Wallace and Keniel Irving. Hoping to bowl St. Bess to victory is rest on the shoulder of Herlando Johnson, Sherwyn Powell, Brian Gayle and Clevon Sailsman.

Ambassador batting rest on the opening pair of captains Kenroy Wright and Keyone Gayle, Handale Martin and Carnell White.  Ambassador will depend on Leon Tulloch, Keyone Gayle, Mark Laing and Carnell White for bowling.

St Lucie vs. Underdogz at Girl Scout Friendship Park in Port St. Lucie

With Undergodogz the only team to defeat St. Lucie in the regular season and St. Lucie looking for revenge this game should be a well-fought game. Underdogz will be looking to USA representative Timothy Surujbally, Captain Tariq Hossain and Stefan Babulal to make the runs, and Dennis Durant, USA representative Kyle Phillips Anand Maharaj for Bowling.

St. Lucie will be looking to SFCA leading runs scorer Mark Pinnock, allrounder Charles Reid, Elton Tucker Jr. and skipper Richard Louis to carry the batting, while in the bowling department Charles Reid, Richard Louis, Glen Angling and Shyram Negi is expected to carry the load.
