Avelo Airlines to launch new direct flights from Connecticut to Jamaica

Avelo Airlines is set to launch a new flight service to Montego Bay, Jamaica. This addition marks a significant expansion for the airline, offering travelers more direct options for connecting with the popular Caribbean destination. The new route is expected to provide greater convenience and affordability for both leisure and business travelers looking to explore Montego Bay and surrounding areas.

Jamaica’s Ambassador to the United States, Audrey Marks, has expressed strong optimism about the new direct flights from Bradley International Airport in Windsor, Connecticut, to Montego Bay. According to Marks, this new route will create a wide range of economic opportunities for Windsor, the surrounding cities, and Jamaica.

She highlighted that the direct connection between Connecticut and Jamaica will not only boost tourism but also foster trade, business partnerships, and cultural exchanges. The added convenience of non-stop flights is expected to attract more travelers from the Northeast U.S. to Jamaica, while also encouraging increased Jamaican-American tourism and investment in both regions. Marks emphasized the importance of this new route in strengthening the ties between the U.S. and Jamaica, benefiting both economies.

“With the launch of this new flight to Montego Bay we can build an awareness within all of Connecticut and within areas like Windsor that Jamaica is three hours away like going to Miami or many other parts of the United States. “

Ambassador Marks commended Avelo Airlines for recognizing the value of expanding its service to Jamaica and said she looked forward to a successful partnership that will benefit both destinations. She noted that the route is of great significance as Connecticut and the surrounding areas represent a major market for visitors to Jamaica.

She emphasized that the area has a high concentration of members of Jamaica’s Diaspora, making this new service a vital link for families and friends, enhancing convenience for travelers but also boosting tourism and strengthening the cultural ties between the two nations.

“We can start exposing the citizens of Windsor to the vacation opportunities in Jamaica and the vacation spots. We can have many mutual areas that will interest Jamaicans to come to Windsor and interest Americans to come to Jamaica for tourism, for business, for just exchanges, cultural exchanges, or teacher and education exchanges,” she said.

Avelo Airlines has unveiled its largest expansion initiative to date, launching non-stop service from Bradley International Airport in Windsor, Connecticut, to seven new destinations, including its first-ever international flights. Among these new routes is the highly anticipated Hartford to Montego Bay service, along with a new flight to Cancun, Mexico, set to begin on November 20, 2024.

The new non-stop flights to both Montego Bay and Cancun will operate twice a week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays, offering travelers a convenient and affordable way to reach these popular destinations. This expansion marks a significant milestone for Avelo Airlines, which is focusing on making international and vacation travel more accessible to passengers in the Northeast U.S.
